Pour Out Your Spirit Conference

Tari Day and me. She's taken such good care of us. :)
Day 1 Thursday- After blowing the roof off with praise and worship, Bill Johnson preached a powerful teaching. I'm posting now on day 3 and I must get the cd to recharge my memory. What God has shown him to break the head of "form over presence" religion is awesome.
Day 2 Friday morning- Dr. Bonnie Chavda spoke. She and the whole congregation prayed for educators. One of the things she blessed us with is "clarity and wisdom." Thank you God for speaking to the needs of my heart.
Friday afternoon- Chavda is Hindu. He got water for a missionary and she gave him a bible. That changed his life. As a young adult he went to see Kathryn Coleman (? sp). He gave all he had and hitched a ride with some ladies for the seven hour return home. One of the ladies said, "God told me to buy you lunch."
Friday night- One guy and his wife wanted a baby. They ABS $1000 and had a baby. God said that Cornelius, all his house, and all of us heard the gospel because he gave "alms" always.
Bill Johnson- wow! Get the CD. Barbara is healed!

At the Park

I tookthe kids to the park today. Yale Park is a beautiful park with a playground, pond for fishing, and jogging trail. When I noticed that my children had been away from my park bench resting place I decided to go look for them. Leave it to my brave, adventurous children to find something else to do.

Niles is So Smart and Funny

Niles has been doing review work to prepare for the coming school year. Jordan has been working too. He is preparing to take the ACT.

Here's the funny. Both of them have been giving me grief about doing their work. Niles has skipped pages in his book. I have had to make him go back repeatedly and complete the back of the pages. Today Niles started singing a song he made up. In the song he said, "Mommie caught me and now I have to do all my work and miss my playtime." All this time he never admitted to intentionally skipping pages. Too funny.
Niles is pictured here. To do his work he must be close to me as possible so he scooted this chair right next to me

Chi Town's Finest- Day 3 Adler Planetarium 1

Tuesday was a cold, drizzly day in ChiTown- a perfect day for going to one of their many world class museums. Chicago residents may check out passes for up to a family of four from their local libraries. I asked my beloved Minnie to check out a pass for us. Although the Thurgood Marshall library had many passes to choose from (DuSable, Mexican, and others) I chose to reach for the stars. So off to the Adler Planetarium!

Love for Eternity

Marlene Green, Angel, Niles, and Jordan

Minnie Pyron and Angel

Minnie Pyron and a very sleepy Angel

When I was 5 years old my mother committed one year of her life to tell others what God has done for her. We were sent to Chicago and were in a family with Garland Harris, Jeff Smart, and Marlene Green. When we arrived in Chicago August 1980 two beautiful women of God opened up their home to us. They are Carolyn Pryor and Minnie Pyron.
On Monday I had the great pleasure of seeing Marlene. We were to meet her for lunch at 1:30 on Tuesday. She showed us around the brand new high rise that the law firm she works for recently moved to. She works on the 38th floor. The view of the Chicago River from there is dizzying. Seeing her was wonderful. She introduced us to everyone we saw. I really enjoyed it.
On Tuesday I went to see Minnie. Everytime we've come to Chicago she has opened her home to us. I took her two of my favorite bottles of wine, Sutter Home Moscato and Barefoot Wines Riesling. We talked and laughed. This was her first time meeting Kevin and the last time she saw Jordan he was 5 years old.
They both have been such a blessing to my life. I am glad that we will spend all eternity together :)
