Christ Kept and Fulfilled the Law

While reading the Bible today in my goal to read it cover to cover, I read Exodus 22- 25
As I read I kept in mind Christ kept all the law without fail. Also the law was not written to us as gentiles and Christ fulfilled this Mosaic law that separated both Jews and Gentiles from God. However, I am investigating a theory: Since Christ poured over the Old Testament and knew it well, it would benefit us in our walking like Christ walked to pour over it as well. I have found several areas in the Old Testament referenced in the new offer light and understanding to God's Word and heart. So today I read Exodus 24:1-8 where Moses came and told all the people what God told them, the blessings and cursings. The people responded with obedience, "All the words which the Lord hath said will we do." Moses wrote down what God told him, set up the covenant ceremony, and re-read the Words of God. The people all agreed saying, "All that the Lord hath said will we do and be obedient."

This account of establishing a covenant reminds me of other mentions of covenants in the Bible. 1. Isaiah- Israel is the Bride, God took it cleaned it and sanctified it as a bridegroom his bride. 2. Romans 10:9- when you "confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus.." You are saying what the Children of Israel said, "All the words which the Lord hath said will we do." "All that the Lord hath said will we do and be obedient."
We enter in the new covenant with God through Jesus Christ, Our Lord. Yay God!

Cups by Chris Carey

These are my notes from a teaching presented by Chris Carey on Resurrection Sunday 2010.
It is an expansion and word study of the word "cups" as in Matthew 26:39...

And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou [wilt].

Chris Carey
Why could Jesus Christ sacrifice his life?
John 13:3
Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God;
JC knew his origin and destination- God.

Examples of the word "cup."
1. Psalms 11:6
Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: [this shall be] the portion of their cup.
The cup represents your lot in life, responsibility, commitment,

2. Matthew 26:39 burden, cross
3. John 18:11
Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
4. Psalms 23
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

We are sheep, when separated they yell out for each other.
5. Ezekiel 23:31 (read the context)
Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister; therefore will I give her cup into thine hand.

6. Jeremiah 25
7. Psalms 16:1-6 and we are his portion.
8. Psalms 116:1-16 cup of salvation- the only free thing. Everything else
is work.
9. Mark 10:35-40, 40-43 power goes to peoples head. In the world the
higher you get, the less you do. In the body of Christ the higher you
are the more lowly  and servile.
10. I Corithians 10: 15-17 taking the cup means taking on both the
blessing and cursing of the owner.
11. Matthew 26:26-28, 29, 30

Celebrate! "The Promised Seed"

This has been a wonderful Happy Household Holiday. First Kevin and I hosted a party at our house, Thursday. It was a sweet time with the Fabians (John, Francis, RJ, and Davey), the Crones (Jim, Laura, Joseph, and Brooks), Angela, Taylor, and Tyler
King, and Terrance and Caleb, Angela's nephews. We enjoyed great food and libations. The kids played and the adults fellowshipped. However the sweetest time was the Biblical gift exchange. As we moved to the living room, Niles played Jingle Bells on the piano and was followed by RJ Sent from my iPhone
