Goal: Read the Bible from the Beginning to End

Genesis 35 and 36 (I will comment on 1-34 later. I've been reading since July)
Chapter 35 God talked directly to Jacob. Hmm, Jacob didn't have the spirit of God in him. How did he hear God? We will put a pin in it. Either way Jacob heard loud and clear. He had all his house to put away things that they were putting before God. On a sad note, little cute Rachel, who Jacob work 14 years to marry and honor died in giving birth to Benjamin, her second son. The children of Israel are now established.
Chapter 36
Esau, also known as Edom, seemed to directly disobey God and marry, not one, but 4 women from Canaan. I see why God chose to bless Jacob.:( interesting bits to keep studying...
*Is the "Bashemath" that Esau married THE Ishmael's daughter, Abraham's son?
*Verse 31 "these are the dukes that reigned before there reigned any king over the Children of Israel." God was still The King for the Children of Israel while Esau's line started thinking they knew better.

Proud Moment

I just sat down with Niles and went over rounding with him. He said he didn't understand and resisted at first. But after showing him to count by tens to round by tens he had it. There was a problem, to round 297 to the nearest tens. He knew right away that 290 was in front. Then he thought about the number that was next. At first he said, "293". I reminded him we were counting by tens Then he thought longer before saying, "300." I was proud of him. Most of my 4th graders don't know how to skip count like that. I thank my father God for answering my prayers concerning Niles. It is joy to walk with Him.
