David saw Genesis as God's Grace...
Genesis 4:7 Is there not, if thou dost well, acceptance? and if thou dost not well, at the opening a sin-offering is crouching, and unto thee its desire, and thou rulest over it.' (YLT) Adam = man
Seth = appointed
Enosh = mortal
Cainan = possesses sorrow
Mahalalel = the blessed of God
Jared = shall come forth
Enoch = teaching
Methuselah = his death shall bring it
Lamech = powerful
Noah = rest and comfort
“mankind appointed mortal has sorrow, but the blessed of God shall come forth teaching that his death will bring powerful comfort and rest.”
Summary: God in his infinite mercy and grace provided a way for man to live and have the choice to call upon His name. Some took this chance at life and recognized there is no life without God's grace- others did not. David is one who chose life. In fact he rejoiced at God's law. For in it he knew there was the permanent savior and payment for sins- Jesus Christ. And at that we will all dance and rejoice! |
