I Finally Get Genesis!

About 18 months ago I asked God to see the first five books of the bible the way David saw it.

2Sa 6:5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of [instruments made of] fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals
2Sa 6:14
And David danced before the LORD with all [his] might; and David [was] girded with a linen ephod.

Acts 13:14-31
Acts 13:32 And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
Mat 22:43
He saith unto them, How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying,"The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?"

Mar 12:36
For David himself said by the Holy Ghost,

David saw Genesis as God's Grace...
Gen 3:21
Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Instead of a sentence of physical death God provided a substitute- an animal's skin to cover the sin of Adam and Eve.

From here, God established this "sin substitution system" where animals were sacrificed for people's transgressions against God.

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring* and hers; he will crush* your head, and you will strike his heel."

The promise of the Father- God would provide a wall of hostility, a barrier between the devil and mankind through a man born of a woman.

 (KJV) Genesis 4:1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
 (KJV) Genesis 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee [shall be] his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

 Genesis 4:7 Is there not, if thou dost well, acceptance? and if thou dost not well, at the opening a sin-offering is crouching, and unto thee its desire, and thou rulest over it.' (YLT)

Adam = man

Seth = appointed

Enosh = mortal

Cainan = possesses sorrow

Mahalalel = the blessed of God

Jared = shall come forth

Enoch = teaching

Methuselah = his death shall bring it

Lamech = powerful

Noah = rest and comfort

“mankind appointed mortal has sorrow, but the blessed of God shall come forth teaching that his death will bring powerful comfort and rest.”

 Summary: God in his infinite mercy and grace provided a way for man to live and have the choice to call upon His name. Some took this chance at life and recognized there is no life without God's grace- others did not.

David is one who chose life. In fact he rejoiced at God's law. For in it he knew there was the permanent savior and payment for sins- Jesus Christ. And at that we will all dance and rejoice!
